Sabres at Walpole by Drone

The Sabre fleet ventured down to Walpole for the 2018 Walpole in the Trees Regatta at Walpole Yacht Club for the March long weekend. Check out the drone video from Day 1 of the event.

Open Bic Nationals 2017/18

55 Open Bics spent last week racing around Moreton Bay to see who would be this years National Champions. A team of 9 sailors represented WA, with PDSC being represented by Rosie Hennessy, Jenna Everett and Aiden Grove. The RO managed to get in a 12 race series with some of the final podium positions down to the wire on the last day.

Congrats Annabelle & Maddy - 29er Worlds

Congratulations to Annabelle and Maddy on finishing in 1st place in the Silver Fleet at the 29er Worlds in Hong Kong. The Regatta threw every curve ball it could at the sailors with some strong wind gusts and extreme weather conditions. The girls persevered and were rewarded with a podium finish. Well done.

Javelin National Champions 2017/18

It’s back in WA! Well done to the new Australian Javelin National champions: PDSC’s Dale Oakley and Paul Cochrane. Congrats also to Richard Thomas and Enfys Jerwood who scraped into 3rd in front of Grand Master champion Bill Devine and Dan Moore.

55 Sabres Swarm the Swan

55 Sabres swarmed the Swan as the 40th Sabre Nationals got underway on 30th December and run through to the 4th January 2018 at Perth Dinghy Sailing Club on Matilda Bay.

2017 Sabre WA Boating Hardware State Championships

Perth Dinghy Sailing Club and Mounts Bay Sailing Club hosted the Sabre State Championships last weekend (25th & 26th Nov). 26 boats entered the 6 Heat series. Saturday Racing at PDSC was held in strong gusty winds. Milder conditions prevailed on Sunday at MBSC. Final results were:- Scott Olsen – Fremantle Sailing Club 1st Tony Carr Perth Dinghy Sailing Club 2nd Clayton Erwin Perth Dinghy Sailing Club 3rd.

PDSC Opening Day 2017/18

The weather gods looked after us on Saturday 21st October for our 115th Season Opening Day. A fabulous day on the water for all of our sailors. And a great afternoon on the balcony for our members and visiting guests for the best afternoon tea on the river.

Busy Bee Thank You

Thank you to everyone who came down and helped at the busy bee last Sunday (15/10/17). Lawns were mowed, ceilings pulled down, areas swept, raked and cleaned out, windows washed and repairs made to the hall and equipment. Your efforts are very much appreciated and the club looks fantastic all ready for season 2017/18. Thank you also to the ladies who kept the troops fed and hydrated throughout the day
