PDSC Members Forrest Hall & Wonil Hotel Tour

The Forrest Research Foundation (FRF), our neighbours in the new building behind the club, has invited PDSC members over to visit their building, learn what they do and to shout us some drinks and nibbles.

The FRF (https://www.forrestresearch.org.au/ ) supports over 60 PhD scholars and postdoctoral fellows who bring their talents and creativity from around the world to Western Australia to conduct ground-breaking research.

 

Time 4:45pm for a 5:00pm start, nominal finish 6:30pm..

Venue: Forrest Research Foundation in Forrest Hall 1. Entry door from the top of the stairs to Forrest Hall #1. 

Directions: Park at PDSC, Walk back down the access road to the outgoing traffic light, cross the road and go up the steps towards Forrest Hall, Enter the door into Forrest Hall 1 (which will be on your right).

Dress: Smart casual.

The sundowner will include:

  • A tour of the Forrest Hall 1 accommodation and facilities,

  • A visit to the Wonil Hotel and its rooms (see PDSC from above)

  • A brief presentation by FRF Director, Prof James Arvanitakis on what the FRF does

  • Some short presentations by FRF researchers on their work.

  • Drinks and finger food/snacks by FRF in their grassed courtyard overlooking PDSC.

     

Whilst the building project has been of concern to all members, it’s time to accept it’s here and to meet the neighbours.

Come along and see the buildings, find out what the residents do and enjoy their hospitality.
