SEPT/OCT SCHOOL HOLIDAY PROGRAM 

Mudlark Dinghies are small sailing boats and a great way to get into or try sailing.

Sailing a dinghy can be fun and exhilarating and this program has been developed to provide a safe introduction to dinghy sailing. These are specific programs targeted to young children aged (7-12yrs), called ‘Start Sailing 1”. Your sailing journey starts here as you learn the fundamentals skills of sailing and are introduced. Areas covered include sailing terminology, boat launch, and recovery, capsize recovery in shallow water, and basic clothing and equipment selection. Courses available – Start Sailing 1 – 12hrs (instruction)      $220 incl. GST  (2 day course)

• Tues & Wed (25 & 26 Sept) 2018 at PDSC  from (0830-4pm) or
• Thurs & Fri (27 & 28 Sept) 2018 at PDSC  from (0830-4pm) or
• Mon & Tues (1 & 2 Oct) 2018 at PDSC  from (0830-4pm) or
• Wed & Thurs (3 & 4 Oct) 2018 at PDSC  from (0830-4pm).

Course Overview

This course introduces participants to dinghy sailing and its fundamental skills so they learn terminology and equipment and practice launching and returning to shore and capsize recovery. 

Course Prerequisites

Water confident.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to begin sailing in a dinghy. All the equipment and gear will be provided by your accredited Discover Sailing Centre.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Start Sailing 1 completion certificate. 

We recognise that some of our course participants are completing the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award and may be using sailing and/or club membership to complete one or more sections of The Award. To learn more, click here.
