Dear PDSC Members,
Please be advised of the Annual General Meeting of the Perth Dinghy Sailing Club, to be held at the club, on Thursday, 5th August 2021, commencing at 7:30pm.
All Ordinary (Full Sailing) and Life Members are requested to attend. Please note: Other members who attend the meeting are advised that they may not cast a vote at the AGM.
Members unable to attend are requested to notify the Secretary (secretary@perthsailing.org.au, 0448 103 028) before the meeting.
Ordinary and Life Members are able to nominate a proxy to speak or vote on their behalf as per Rule 55 of the club Rules of Association. The proxy must be another Ordinary or Life Member. Nomination of a proxy, must be made on the form attached to the agenda (or equivalent written statement), and the completed form sent or handed to the Secretary prior to the meeting. If the completed form is sent electronically to the Secretary, then the form shall be received by the Secretary no later than 7:30pm Wednesday 4th August 2021.
Attached are the following:
- The agenda for the meeting, with an attached proxy appointment form. The agenda indicates the business that will be conducted at the meeting.
- The proposed fee schedule for season 2021-22. Approval of this or an amended fee structure is a required part of the AGM.
- The draft minutes of the 2020 AGM, held 6th August 2020, which are subject to member review and approval during the AGM.
- A clean draft of the proposed amendments of the club by-laws.
- A review copy of the proposed amendments of the club by-laws (showing the edits from the current by-laws and some comments on the proposed changes).
Class Captains are requested to prepare a brief (about 5 minute maximum) written report on the class for the season just completed, including club sailor attendance and achievements at class State, National and World Championships. Class Captains are also requested to present this report verbally to the AGM and provide the report electronically to the Secretary prior to the meeting. Class Captains unable to attend the AGM should make alternative arrangements for the report to be presented and notify the Secretary of the arrangements before the meeting.
Office bearers and the members nominated in the agenda to provide a report, are also request to prepare a written report, verbally deliver that report to the meeting and provide an electronic copy of the report to the Secretary prior to the meeting. If you are unable to attend the meeting to deliver the report in person please notify the Secretary.
Election of Office Bearers for the club for season 2021-22 will occur at the AGM. Nominations for these positions have now closed and the nominees standing for election can be found in the agenda.
